Brian Platt – The Pasta Shop Restaurant
Opening The Pasta Shop was a journey that began when I was just a teenager, scrubbing pots and pans in the kitchen of The Contessa, an Italian eatery that used to be located just a quarter mile away from The Pasta Shop now. It was there that I discovered my love for the culinary arts. The owners, welcomed me into their restaurant, and became my mentors. They shared their family’s traditional foods, teaching me the art of not following recipes but instead trusting your own taste. It was through their confidence in me that I was able to find my own confidence of one day turning my dreams into reality.
Over the years, my life took various turns that led to me owning and operating a well-known restaurant franchise. After 12 years there I was ready to open my own concept, The Pasta Shop. Built around the idea that great Italian food can be made quick and affordable; easy for families to come and go, and perfect for a quick work lunch.
I searched many different areas for the perfect location, but one spot kept calling me. It was in my daily commute on Ina and Thornydale. Being a Marana resident myself, I am proud to serve my community. Having guests in my restaurant is really like having friends and family in my kitchen at home. I enjoy getting to know everyone that walks through my doors, and try to give back to my community as much as I can. Whether it’s feeding the Mountain View Football team before a game, or donating raffle items to a non-profit we are here for our community.
